Outing to Colors Restaurant, owned and operated by formed workers from Windows of the World Restaurant in North Tower.
Co-sponsored a policy discussion forum on long term care for September 11 survivors called “Meeting the Long Term 9/11 Medical and Mental Health Challenge”, together with Community Board 1, Community Board 3, Labor Community Advocacy Network, New York New Visions, Rebuild Chinatown Initiative.
Participated in the Marriott WTC Survivors Luncheon and Remembrance Walk.
Our members were invited to a preview of Tribute WTC Visitors Center. Our members were invited to a private screenings of the movies, Flight 93 and World Trade Center.
WTCSN worked with the producers and director of the movie World Trade Center in an advisory capacity.
2005
Joined Weill Cornell Medical College in offering a Free Mental Health Screening Day for WTC Survivors, Rescue and Recovery Workers and Families.
Together with the WTC Memorial Foundation, we organized a Visit to Hangar 17 at JFK airports where WTC artifacts are stored.
Offered a Support Group sponsored by St. Vincent’s WTC Healing Services called Healing From September 11.
Participated in a resource fair sponsored by St. Vincent’s WTC Healing Services.
Together with St. Vincent’s WTC Healing Services, the second Annual Community Concert and Healing Arts Exhibit in remembrance of September 11.
Participated in the Voices of September 11 Spring Information Forum.
Participated in the International Day of Peace Program called “Courage to Forgive”.
2004
Provided our members with Art Therapy Workshops in conjunction with NY Cope and St. Vincents’ World Trade Center Healing Services.
Adopted a Platoon serving in Afghanistan.
Participated in a series of creative healing workshops sponsored by the Red Cross.
Hosted an Online Chat with Dr Difede, Director of the Program for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Studies at Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Together with St. Vincent’s WTC Healing Services, the first Annual Community Concert and Healing Arts Exhibit in remembrance of September 11.
Held a series of Interfaith Discussions on spirituality in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001,co-sponsored by September Space and NYDIS.
Together with NYDIS we offered Pastoral Counseling Care to our members.
Organized a visit to Ground Zero, for most survivors it was the first time they were able to site the site since they had not been allowed up to that point.
Participated in the Voices of September 11 Information Forum and Commemorative Luncheon.
2003
“Pathway to Tomorrows: The First Forum for WTC Families, Survivors, Residents and Airlines”. This event helped families of September 11 expand the circle to embrace survivors, Lower Manhattan residents and airline personnel, to bring us all one step further in the healing process.
Hosted an Online Chat with Dr. Farrell on World Trade Center Survivors’ Syndrome.
